The benefits these homes bring to the customer are unquestionable: homes will be warmer and cost less to heat if the technology is used effectively. Presently, however, scalability remains far off.Another great Insta Live for you tomorrow (Wed 2nd Dec, 9pm) with Sistr Founder Emma Sayle, who will be speaking with Hannah Hunter of Premier Medics Ltd about life on the frontline of the NHS and how that has changed in the last 16 years – plus the struggles of being a single mother added to that.įinding the courage to make the leap from a secure job and step into the private sector, and the new obstacles that this presented including finding financial backing (Jane Samsa) and a Dr to lead our clinical governance (Dr Kate Johnson) and challenging the status quo of large established companies which was initially met with quite shocking resistance (Hannah found herself ensconced in legal proceedings before even getting out of the gate) and how the human traits of kindness, hard work, endeavour, humility and relationship building are enough to set you apart. ![]() Whilst the Passivhaus standard is excellent, it does come with some challenging constraints and we will work collaboratively with members and the Scottish Government to agree a way to develop the future equivalent ‘Scottish Standard’, which will reduce the reliance on importing components from Europe, reduce costs and helps build the capacity of the Scottish supply chain. Over the next year we’ll be working to put this definition into practice, and want to work with organisations to implement some of the ideas from this research. □ - But what does being responsible with data mean in practice? We found examples of efforts designed to protect privacy, address biases and enable participation in data practices, and we saw interventions that have been developed to support and compel organisations to use data responsibly – including frameworks, technologies, training and legislative action. However they are united by the fact that the idea of responsibility is generally well understood outside of the data context, making it easier for people to understand than some of the other concepts. □️ - The idea of responsibility is used inconsistently, and means lots of different things to lots of different groups, and differs significantly based on geographical and cultural context. ✔️ - ‘Responsibility’ is one of many concepts which have arisen in response to rising awareness of the harms and negative impacts of data and describe how data should be used, like data ethics, data justice, and data for good. Over the last 9 months we’ve interviewed a diverse group of experts from around the world and digested over one hundred and fifty reports, frameworks and guidebooks on responsible data., and we found that: Check out our new research on responsible data stewardship which explores how stewarding data responsibly realises the benefits of sharing data, while reducing the harms which arise from data-use, and redressing structural inequalities that are reproduced throughout the data ecosystem.
